We're a rabid pack of fans with a mission to promote content and organize events around the goodest of gacha wolf boyes.Our activities began in late 2023 with a birthday fanweek, and we also ran a fanweek for the Kuya/GaruKaru pairing in May 2024. Currently, we're running monthly prompts for all the different GaruKaru pairings, based on whose birthday it is that month. And in November we'll run GaruKaru Week 2, the thrilling sequel! Since July 2024, we have been providing monthly lists of prompts focused on the dynamic between Garu, Karu and a specific NU:Carnival character — that month's birthday boy!Participating is extremely simple. Just create a fanwork based on one or more of the listed prompts, and post it during the month. That's it! There are no content restrictions, requirements or guidelines beyond featuring the pairing. Your fanwork can be of any size, length or skill level, and their relationship can be sexual, romantic or platonic. This is not a challenge or contest, it is merely an incentive to create and to celebrate these rarepairs!Any participating fanwork that we see will be linked in our master spreadsheet. Tagging @GaruKaruWeek when you post is optional. It just helps us find your work and share it! We're on Bluesky as well.Worth mentioning: @nuFlashFic is running drabble-writing events for character birthdays for the foreseeable future! This is an open fanweek dedicated to Garu and Karu. It will start on the 24th of November and run until the 30th of November, spanning the pups' birthday on the 28th.During the event, anyone and everyone is welcome to join us by posting fanworks (drawings, fics, or anything) inspired by a day's prompts! Feel free to start creating now and post on the appropriate day when the time comes.Fanworks will go in our List of Contents linked below, preserved for posterity. And click here to see the amazing, 60+ fanworks inspired by last year's fanweek!
Each day has 2 prompts available to be picked. You can use one or both of them to inspire your fanwork(s) for that day. Ideally, you'll have created the fanwork(s) beforehand and waited to post on the corresponding day(s).
The intent is for each day to have a more 'general' prompt (the yellow one) and a more 'sexual' prompt (the blue one), but you may interpret all of the prompts as you wish! They are meant to inspire, not restrict. Make NSFW works with SFW prompts or vice-versa, you're in charge.
If none of the prompts inspire you, or you have an idea for a great GaruKaru fanwork that doesn't fit any of the prompts, consider posting for the 'Free Day!' prompt on November 29. That's the wildcard day for all such cases.
If you share your fanwork on Twitter, use the #GaruKaruWeek2024 hashtag to identify it! If you post to AO3, please add your work to the Collection we will provide when the time comes. We will be putting everything into the nice spreadsheet linked above as well.
Your fanworks can certainly feature characters other than Garu and/or Karu, and can even focus on those other characters. We only ask that the wolf boy(s) be central to the 'point' of it. For example, you could draw Yakumo making their birthday cake and that would be a perfectly valid entry!
There will be no content policing for the event, so 'problematic' works won't be discriminated. Please share GaruKaru content in whatever form you are passionate about. We kindly ask that every work be tagged with care, but won't be enforcing specific standards either. The only requirement is to be respectful to others in the way you present your work.
Your work will not be shared or listed if you have been blocked by the fanpage due to abuse / harassment / aggressive 'anti' behavior / sharing illegal links in post replies.
Fanworks will still be considered part of the event if they're posted late! Please don't deprive us of your talent just because life got away from you a little bit.
THE LIST OF PROMPTS
You are the ultimate authority when it comes to determining how a prompt applies to your fanwork, regardless of the inspirations and original intent that went into devising the list. For instance, you could decide to use 'Food play' but make your fanwork about literally playing with food, rather than making it sexual. Or you could make 'Nurse' about breastfeeding. Don't be afraid to push the limits! However, if you'd like additional guidance and inspiration, here's a discussion of each of the prompts:
Head rubs. This is a reference to the head pats that Garu and Karu love to receive. In Misty Vale, we saw Eiden and Garu are also more than willing to extend the treatment to Yakumo as well; who knows who else? Anyway, drawings of the good boys getting petted are always in high demand!
Love bites. Might they show love with bites, or do they love getting bitten? Maybe both? It's a popular headcanon that Garu and Karu have a biting/marking kink. And look no further than Aster, Kuya and Yakumo if you're looking for bitey partners outside of the canon pairings...
Modeling. In Frozen Echoes intimacy rooms, we are introduced to Karu's interest in becoming a model. He seems to have a knack for it... the non-social aspects, at least. You could explore challenges or sexy poses. Alternatively, someone could be modeling for Garu's drawings!
Frotting. This is delightfully puppylike as sex acts go, so we thought it would be a good fit. Karu has done it with Eiden before. Also, if you're into the Garu/Karu ship, the two of them frotting is undeniably a very potent image, is it not? Two of them...
Nurse. Originally inspired by their role in Misty Vale intimacy rooms... and then they went and made a medical event with Greenwood Miracle! The gift of prophecy is a heavy burden to bear. You can use this prompt to write the sickfic of your dreams, or just draw Nurse Doggy.
Food play. They're such hungry, hungry puppies... it feels very natural to gravitate toward this kink, and it's surprising that canon hasn't gotten there yet. Well, you can get ahead of it! Have foodies like Aster, Edmond and Yakumo join in too.
Packmates. A good opportunity to explore Garu and Karu's relationship to any other cast member they consider (or might come to consider) family. Can't swing a stick without hitting a Found Family appreciator in fandom spaces, so come out, y'all! (Also, group sex, anyone?)
Jockstraps. From winter to summer, it's clear at this point that they have a predilection for this type of underwear. It makes access delightfully easy and emphasizes their best assets. Draw dogboy ass, fill prompt, post, profit. For fanfic, maybe some 'trying on clothes' content?
Happy Birthday! This prompt, on #GaruKaruDay2024, is your go-to for 'celebratory' works explicitly about the fact that it's their birthday. Though I suppose nothing stops you from making an out of season piece about the pups celebrating another character's birthday.
Scent kink. We put this one on their birthday because it's such a core dog boy kink that we've seen so many times from Garu and Karu, and which we will hopefully keep seeing unto perpetuity. Traditions must be respected! Get out your clothes-sniffing content, please don't be shy!
Free Day! This isn't a 'break', it's the catch-all prompt for any fanwork you want to submit to Wolves Week but won't quite fit any other prompt. You have an idea, but no prompt fits it? WRONG! This one does! Post it!
Tan lines. With their outdoorsy nature and their scanty outfits, it's not uncommon for fanartists to draw GaruKaru with tan lines. And then Desert Island Knockout gave us some canon ones! November 30 may not be summertime, but any time is a good time to worship sunkissed wolf boys.
Breeding. I mean, the omegaverse is right there around the corner, yeah. Go ahead, indulge in breeder content to your heart's content as a sendoff to the fanweek, be it just a breeding kink, bonafide Mpreg, or the consequences thereof (puppies!). Reminder that 'Kuya has a Breeding Kink' is perpetually a powerful piece of fanon.
